When should you check your car battery?
Slow starting and heat are reasons to test the battery before it leaves you stranded.
Heat is hard on a battery. A car that cranks slowly, needs a second try to start, or shows dim lights when you turn the key is worth testing. A battery warning light is a reason to inspect the charging system as well, not only to replace the battery.
A useful time to test
- Before summer, if starting has become slower
- After the car has been parked for a long period
- When a warning light or an electrical fault appears
- During a periodic service, as one of the routine checks
DENSO AUTO can look at starting problems and battery-related symptoms as part of an electrical assessment. The recommendation depends on the test result.
